Evan should be starting speech therapy any day now, and in the meantime we're listening hard for those words. There are a number of things that we think he says, but none of them are very clear or consistent, and no, none of them are "mom." But I do notice progress each day and hopefully therapy will give him the boost he needs (and for goodness sakes get him to say "mom" already!!)
Singing has become our new thing around here. We've been focusing heavily on "Row, Row, Row Your Boat," primarily because I know all of the words. He caught on very quickly and now he goes around singing, "rah, rah, rah, rah, rah." He's even attempted the alphabet. We sing the ABC's while we're brushing his teeth and sometimes he'll hum along. Ooh, I love him!!
This was one of those completely unproductive weeks for me. I blame it on all the rain (cue Milli Vanilli...don't judge!) My three days at work were spent with the following very important business items: looking for plane tickets online, checking emails, reading blogs, filling out my winning NCAA brackets, setting up an online bracket tournament for me and some friends, and oh yeah, doing my actual job. I know - how on earth did I get it all done?
To leave you with yet more randomness, I'm going to answer the call from Kelly who tagged me to list 7 things about myself...1) One of my favorite movies of all time is Xanadu and at one point I knew all the words and probably wanted to be Olivia Newton John 2) I'm an absolute slob (and married to a neat freak - imagine the possibilities) 3) I HATED summer camp 4) I thoroughly enjoy gristle...yes...fat...and the crispy skin on chicken...when no one's looking, of course 5) I get way too emotionally involved in movies/books/tv shows - I actually think about the characters and "what they're doing now" as if they're real people, don't worry friends, I'm a therapist 6) I love sleep, so much so, that sometimes my husband is jealous of it 7) My biggest fear is being widowed - I have a wonderful husband and hope to enjoy a long life with him.
