Happy Mother's Day

Today was my first official Mother's Day. I remember last year's mother's day so well because I was getting ready to start my second trimester and wondering what I would be like as a mother, realizing that next year I'd be celebrating this holiday. I love being a mother and hopefully I'm a good one, I think that I am. I've tried to do "all the right things" while still letting Evan set the pace as much as possible. But more than anything and what really counts is that I love and enjoy him immensely.

We went to my mom's today for a cookout and there were so many moms there: me, mom and grandma, my sister and her mom, my other sister's mother-in-law. I look at every mom with new appreciation now that I've joined the ranks. So, to all of you mom's out there - you're great and please be acknowledged for all that you do for those you love!

On a side note, Evan was great today - his routine was a little off, but he was so energetic and playful. He's such a people person - he loves new faces and of course all the attention he gets being the only baby. He didn't act fussy once the entire day even though he ate and napped late. I've been so blessed with an easy baby - he's so laid back, but so much fun at the same time. He just cracks us up. He was a big hit today and as usual everyone loved him! I couldn't ask for a better Mother's Day present than Evan!
