As I write this post, I can hear Evan snoring on the monitor and Jeff downstairs playing the last of his vacation Madden...our vacation is over. There's always this part of me that knows as soon as a vacation begins, it's also ending...hey, I never said I was an optimist. But despite the bleak perspective, we were able to relax and enjoy our family time. We went to the zoo, the IMA, the pool, ate at every fast food joint on the block, spent money without regard, and stayed up late every night! Overall, it was a pretty good vacation even if we didn't leave town. I'm serious about the cruise idea though, we just need to start the planning sooner next time!
Not only is our vacation over, but my summer is drawing to a close as well. I will have been off for 9 weeks and I've loved every minute of it! I'm not looking forward to leaving Evan again, but this time around it's only for three days at a time - the weeks will be over before they begin! My friend Tandy has offered to watch Evan this year and I'm so glad. I've been so fortunate to have close friends watching Evan!
A few noteworthy updates...Evan started brushing his teeth this week and he loves it. Of course, these days Evan loves anything he can do himself - we also officially began giving him cheerios. This Tuesday will be 4 weeks since we've had a showing for our condo, but with
our house no longer available, we've stopped stressing about the whole thing - we'll sell when we sell. I think that Jeff will start designing the new blog this week and I'm getting very excited to get it up and running. It's already gone through many changes, but that's good because the idea is being refined - stay tuned!

look at that big boy brushing his teeth! that middle picture looks like a different baby, it's incredible! i'm glad you guys had a good vacation/time off. if you can accomplish all that while staying in town, that's good. i feel like i have to work if i'm here, so you guys did well!
