The search is on

We're finally all settled in the apartment. Moving took a lot longer than we expected and we really didn't get everything in its right place until tonight. Last night was rough. We kept noticing all the little things that we missed about our condo and all the things we didn't like about the apartment. When we finally went to bed (at 1:00,) we talked about how we felt a little homeless and Jeff said, "I miss our home." I might have teared up a little...

The apartment is old and dingy. There's only one bathroom and the kitchen isn't real functional. However few, there are some pros to the apartment. Since we're only on one level, I don't have to worry about Evan falling down the stairs. We've child-proofed everything, so now Evan can have complete reign of the living room - no more corral. The living room is actually quite a bit bigger than our space in the condo and Evan is enjoying his freedom to roam.

After the arduous move this weekend, we're definitely not looking forward to doing this all over again in a couple months, but we're excited to start really searching for our "dream home." Hopefully, this stopover will give us the freedom we need to find the right house.

Regarding Evan, we went in to check on him before going to bed tonight and he was so cute. He was on his stomach and tucked under one arm was his teddy bear and under the other was his blanket. He's taken to this move really well. He just keeps walking around checking things out and trying to "help" us unpack. Hopefully he'll adjust this well to the new house! We also got his birthday and Christmas presents today while we were out - nothing big - we don't want to overdo it, but we think he'll enjoy them!

glad you guys are getting adjusted. I don't think it's a bad apartment at all, just different from what you're used to. And the time spent there will fly by!

We'll have to come over and welcome you to the neighborhood :) It is too weird that we both move and we are neighbors again. I hear ya on the kitchen I think I might have cooked 3 meals since we have been there, also might have something to do with the fact we are never there. I felt the same way about missing the condo for the first few days but then it goes away some and you just become grateful to have a warm and safe place to live in this transitional time.

I'm glad you guys are somewhat able to settle in. You'll eventually be in a new home and it will feel like home again!
