My Turn

Why is it that as a mom you always get whatever sick your kids have, but somehow you manage to get it a lot worse? I'm going to tell everyone my dirty little secret of the season...I didn't get Evan a flu shot. I tried - several times, but by November, most places were out. I've actually been ashamed by this and dreading the day when my doctor (or anyone else) asked me if Evan had gotten his. Always the self-involved, I did get myself the flu shot because it was free and administered at my school.

Well, I'm no expert, but whatever I have feels awfully like something you might call the flu. Meanwhile, my un-vaccinated son bounced back in a day or so. I started getting sick Saturday night and then Sunday felt a little better, but overnight I woke up with a fever and now I feel like a bad impression of death. Luckily, Jeff stayed home to take care of Evan, because seriously, I'm exhausted just after typing this. He's out getting me medicine so I'm going to get back to the couch before he thinks I'm faking.

I hope you start feeling better soon! Don't feel bad about not getting him the flu shot. I know a lot of people who chose not to get them for their kids. I'm glad Evan got better so fast!!

Hope you start to feel better. We only got the shot because it fell right near his appointment!

Yuck, that plague was going around my office last week. Luckily I just got some sinusy thing and that was it, no fever. Don't feel bad about the flu shot, nearly all the people around here getting sick got the flu shot, I didn't and I am fine. (knock on wood)

Feel better soon, being sick is no fun and being a parent and being sick makes it that much worse!
