Vacation: first installment

I've been a bad blogger. Jeff and I came down with a cold the last day or so of our vacation. Between that, all the late nights, and the drive home, it's been a slow recovery. We had such a good time though!

Our drive to Atlanta was our first extended road trip with Evan. Until then, he'd only ever ridden the three hour trip to Evansville and we usually timed that during night/nap times. We were a little worried, but overall both trips went really well.

The kids had a great time, even if Evan taught her how to say "me." There were definitely a lot of lessons about sharing, but there was also a lot of affection being shown. Check out this video - CUTE!

The adults had a blast too. I don't think we ever went to bed until after midnight and the last night we were there we had to sneak back into the house. Dara's mom stayed home with the kids and we went out for dinner, a movie, and dessert. We had forgotten to bring a house key, so we were locked out. We stood on the porch giggling and eventually had to tap on a window to wake her mom up.

Here are some pictures from our trip to the Atlanta Zoo. I'm really a fan of the Indianapolis Zoo, but in some ways I liked this one better. Everything felt really accessible. The exhibits were close together and the animals didn't seem so far away. Plus, there were panda bears and gorillas. There was also this exhibit called the tree house, where the animals were climbing up and around you - really cool.

Apparently, blogger can't handle a post with video and pics, so more details and pics will have to come later...
