Joosh

I think we've entered the era of juice. Until now, we've kept juice at bay, but I think Evan has caught on. It's not that I have a fundamental problem with juice, I've just always figured what he doesn't know can't hurt him. He's been content with water and milk, so I've been content to keep it that way.

Last night, Jeff had Hawaiian punch with dinner and Evan was very interested in his "drink." He kept asking to try it, so finally we let him. He drank, and drank, and drank, and then said "yum yum!" Jeff told him it was juice, and within no time Evan was calling for "joosh." One thing my son does not need is more sugar - hopefully he'll be happy with the watered down stuff!

I still water down my boys' juice, except if they get a juice box. Since I've always done it they don't know the difference.

Cute pics! He's getting so big!

Alexis has only very recently decided that juice is perhaps acceptable. She still prefers water or milk, which is totally fine by me. Meanwhile, I have a niece that at Alexis' age was drinking Pepsi out of a sippy cup and calling it "juice." She would drink 4 cans per day. Guess who has awful teeth now, two years later. Go ahead, guess. Hint: Not my kid. ;-)

My niece drinks Propel sometimes. That way she gets that taste of juice but not nearly the sugar of say Hawaiian punch. There is only 2 g of sugar in 8 oz of Propel. I only know b/c I have a bottle in front of me and basically live on that stuff now :)

The girls love the motts for tots and healthy harvest and V8 Splash...all have fruits and veggies in each serving, so that is all I buy. Sometime we water it down, other times give it to them straight.
