We've stepped up our potty training game, which means taking him to the potty while out in public. I'm not going to lie - I hate this, but there's no way around it, I guess. Personally, I'll do anything to avoid those cesspools, but when you're a toddler, and you gotta go - you gotta go.
We got him one of those portable fold-up seats that fit on the toilet, because he's still freaked out by the big toilet. He's doing a great job, for the most part. He'll go in with us, sit on his seat, and pee. However, it's where he's peeing that's the problem. Apparently there's a sweet spot on his fold-up seat that we have NOT found. Which means, 50% of the time, he pees all over the floor. I really don't get it. I make sure he's tucked, but it doesn't seem to matter. To be fair, those seats are kind of awkward, so I guess we're still working out the kinks.
Depending on the pre-existing cleanliness of the bathroom, sometimes I'll clean it up, but if it's already gross, um, I don't think so. The first time that happened, and I had to leave it that way, I thought, "wow, all this time it's been toddler boys making public restrooms so disgusting!"
