We were getting him ready for bed and he called Jeff, "Da Da," which he never does. Usually we're both referred to as "Daaaa." But then as he was walking away, he started saying, "ma ma ma ma." I'm pretty sure he wasn't talking about me, but that's ok. Just knowing that he said the syllables in succession is a huge step. I also think that yesterday he did a very rough version of the sign for mommy.
He's definitely saying a lot more words these days, we just don't know what most of them are. They say that language development takes off at 18 mos and even though, Evan is definitely behind the curve, I've really noticed a difference over the last month. He's also been using signs on a regular basis and that's been a big help.
Of course, I'm concerned with language development and all and I'm glad he's been making progress. But, let's be honest, it's really the "mama" I've been waiting for!!

What an awesome present! Way to go Evan!!
he looks so big playing on the play ground!
Congrats! That is so exciting!!
Yeah! I am so happy for you!
What a wonderful gift! Go Evan for beating Daddy on the gift end!
Yay! Watch out, though. Once they start demanding mama's attention, they never stop. I swear Alexis chants it just to see how many times I will respond.
