My little penny pincher

Could also be titled, He gets it from his mama.

We have a drawer in our nightstand that Evan likes to rummage through. There are lots of things in the drawer that he shouldn't have access to that we just haven't found better places for. Things like Jeff's asthma medicine, tacks apparently (not sure how they got in there,) and a bowl full of coins that he could totally swallow and choke on.

When I'm getting ready in the morning, I have to keep an eye out because that's usually the first place he goes when I'm not looking. Yesterday, as usual, he'd been getting into that drawer, and I had already redirected him a few times. At one point, he got really quiet, which is almost always a sign that he's up to no good. I peeked my head out to check on him, and I saw him suspiciously heading towards his room.

I got to his room just in time to hear his dinosaur piggy bank give off a growl signifiying that it had been given a deposit. Our son had been taking our change and filling up his piggy bank with it. On one hand I was shocked that he even knew what to do with the coins, besides try and eat them, but on the other hand I felt a sense of pride - my son was saving our his money. I've taught him well!
