To the Zoo

Today we took Evan to the zoo and had a lot of fun watching him realize that those animals don't just exist in his books. He was really observant and aware of the animals for the first hour or so and then he started to get pretty tired. It was hot today, but thankfully it wasn't humid. He was the most engaged at the Oceans exhibit because we went there first. He loved the eels and the penguins! Can you believe though, how much it costs to go to the zoo, and it's only free for kids under 2! Plus $5 to park - what is that about!?! Anyway, it was a great thing to experience with him and I'm glad we could go while Jeff was home!

In other news, Evan got his first haircut this weekend. We did it ourselves and because of that it's not the most flawless, but it is out of his eyes and off his ears now and that's good. Every day he looks more and more like a little boy. He was 8 mos old yesterday - I can't believe it!

Later this week we'll go to the IMA, the pool, and we're going to do some shopping. We're hoping to buy patio furniture on sale, even though we have nowhere to put it and it doesn't seem likely that we'll actually get to use it this season...

Glad you guys had a good trip to the zoo...I too was astonished at the price to get into the Zoo, kind of a rip off, oh well. Enjoy the rest of your vacation.
