9 Months

It felt so weird today knowing that the next time I take Evan to the Doctor, he'll be a year old. So many things will change after that...No more bottle, he'll be walking, and he can face forward in his car seat. He'll be a toddler.

These last few months have already brought so many changes. Evan is cruising very well and can crawl so fast! He can climb the entire length of the stairs practically before you turn around. He has several syllables that he says often, his favorite being da da, but no real words yet, and no ma ma. Evan recognizes a couple signs and seems to know what some things mean when we say them including his name and no.

We've switched out a lot of his baby toys and traded them for "big boy" toys. He loves toys that make noise, things he can push around, and things he can bang on. One day as he was crawling down the hallway he put his hand on the doormat and it moved. For the next few days his favorite game was pushing that mat all the way down the hall. Every few movements he'd look back and say "AHH," just to make sure we were watching his accomplishment.

He eats pretty much whatever we eat, which has encouraged me to make healthier meals, and he eats a lot as always! He loves cheese and carrots. We rarely use baby food anymore unless it's for convenience when we're out. One day we went to Chick-fil-A for lunch and I didn't feel like packing his lunch so he got a kid's meal. Isn't that amazing, our baby is getting kid's meals - when did that happen?

Evan and Elliott have gone from best friends to fierce rivals. She used to love sitting next to him, when he wasn't mobile. Now she torments him by always being one step ahead and he's constantly angling for her tail. I think she still has the upper hand, but soon the tables will turn. We're trying to teach him to be gentle, but sometimes she really asks for it.

He's got so much personality and he's so active and adventurous. We love him so much!

I almost forgot the reason for this post - his stats! Evan weighs a mere 25 lbs and is 30 inches long. He checked out great!
