Me and Evan, or is it Evan and I?

I'm pulling single-parent duty tonight, while my husband is off saving the world one graphic design at a time. I actually don't do that very often. Well, besides the days I'm home and the three hours each afternoon before Jeff walks through the door. It's usually the other way around - because I need my girl time! Jeff has stayed home on several chick flick occasions, so I guess it's only fair that I man the Evan-ship while he's slaving away at work. We missed him though, bath time is really Jeff's gig. Evan wasn't as happy with my guest performance.

We did play a new game tonight - "who can get to the red socks the fastest?" One of us would throw the socks and then we'd "race" to grab them. This kept Evan giggling his precious little boy laugh for at least 20 minutes. I also learned a couple of things during this game. 1) Whatever sport involves diving on the ground with little concern for yourself or others is the sport for Evan. Ooh, that sounds like fumble recovery to me - Daddy will be so proud! And 2) I can be competitive even with my toddler and even over a pair of red socks. I had to force myself to let him get to the socks first every now and then!

Oh, and, Crazy internet stalkers, please ignore this post.

Evan & I...and I sometimes like solo duty, too. You get to relax and have fun. Yes. I get upset having to lose to the toddler, too.
