No longer a complete disgrace

We put in a lot of hard work today, but we made huge improvements to our front flowerbeds. As usual, I forgot to take before pictures, but you'll have to trust that it was atrocious. I know it doesn't look like much, but once everything starts to take off, it should look really nice. Unless of course, we did what we always do and planted everything in the wrong place, or I do what I always do and ignore forget to water them. At the end of the summer we may hit the clearance racks to fill in the gaps, but for now it's a wrap...well, besides the watering, of course, oh, and the weeding - crap!

I'm pretty sure every neighbor driving by today was thinking, "it's about time they did something with that eyesore of a yard!" But, give us a break! It was neglected, abandoned, and we bought it in the dead of winter.

Newsflash - Landscaping is expensive! This is just one of many outdoor projects to come, although, some later than sooner. We were a bit overwhelmed so we decided to prioritize. The fence, front yard, planting trees, and cleaning up our "woods," were first on the list. Next year, Lord willing, we'll landscape around the house, possibly around the fence, and hopefully put in a brick patio...but, we'll see.

In the meantime, I'm just going to stare out the window and marvel at our one finished accomplishment. Until it needs any kind of maintenance and then it will suddenly become the bane of my existence.
