Yesterday, Evan was having the hardest time falling asleep for his nap. As I was listening to him on the monitor, I realized that he was out of his bed and playing with one of his toys. When I went up to remind him that it was in fact nap time, this was what his hair looked like. I thought it was wet, but really it was just covered in Vaseline. We keep a little jar of Vaseline in his dresser for his lips. Apparently, he had gotten into that jar and completely emptied it. There were huge clumps of it in his hair and it was smeared all over several of his toys.
FYI, Vaseline does NOT clean up well. And it does NOT come out of hair easily either. We've washed his hair, oh I don't know, 10 times at least. We even used corn starch and dish soap. His hair is still pretty greasy, but it's getting better. At least it's much easier to style!

it looks great! i like the style! try vinegar and beer, that should work. it'll make his hair smell bad, but a vinegar/beer bath does wonders for hair....you'll be amazed!
my cousin covered herself head to toe in penaten cream. just as greasy but white. Yikes!!!
the hairstyle is rockin'
When I was that age I smeared a jar of Vaseline all over my carpet at naptime. I wanted it to be shiny.
I can't believe my Mom didn't kill me.
hahahahahahaaaaaa! Evan's hilarious. :)
He is so smart, he just wanted his hair styled more up to date then you were doing, lol!
Oh dear!!! I kind of like the vasaline style! :)
Holy moly, cottage cheese and then vaseline on another day?
You'd better let that kid wash his own hair in the bathtub and get that urge satisfied in that way. LOL.
For a number of days my 7 year old would shower and his hair didn't smell clean. I'd ask if he washed his hair and he said yes. After a bunch of days I finally said, "What are you washing your hair WITH?" and he said, "Oh, I switched to using only the conditioner and not the shampoo.".
I had to explain the purpose of shampoo and how the conditioner is not an equal switch. LOL.
Kids do funny things.
