The Unveling #2

Here it is - the Spring/Summer edition of VerWaynian Delicacies, but first, a little history...

Check here to read about why I started this whole thing in the first place; here to read more about the first edition; and here or here to read my testimonials!

Everything is pretty much set up the same as last time, except that it's longer and we left the cookbook as one document. The first few pages outline the 17 weeks of menus, followed by the recipes themselves. The last section consists of the shopping lists for each week. Keep in mind that I've created the "cookbook" to be used continuously throughout the seventeen weeks. I tried to stretch ingredients whenever possible, sometimes from one week to the next, and that's reflected in the shopping lists as well. I know that won't work for everyone, and some of you may just be interested in certain recipes, so make sure you check for that.

I also want to say a few words about the recipes themselves. Primarily, that I didn't create them. I can claim one or two of them (I'm not saying which,) but the rest have all been gathered over time from various sources. I love recipes and I "borrow" them whenever possible. That's one of the inspirations for this "cookbook." At one point, I realized I had all of these really great recipes and I was only using a minuscule portion of them. Why collect them if I don't ever use them?

I can say, however, that I've altered or tweaked almost every recipe, and I'm sure you'll do the same. Each household has it's own likes or dislikes and the recipes in this collection are tailored to ours.

Before I give you the link to my collection, I want to first acknowledge all of the places I "borrowed" recipes from in order to make this happen:

Food Network - This is where I learned to cook and it's the first place I turn for new recipes
Cooking Light - I've been getting this magazine for years, the recipes are healthy and inspiring
Real Simple - It's a great magazine with fail safe recipes that still impress
Kraft's Food & Family Magazine - For the quick, easy, and tasty
All Recipes - The online source for the tried and true
And last, but not least, friends, other Moms, and bloggers just like you - Thank you!

(This link will take you to our Public iDisk folder. Select the 2009 Spring and Summer folder and then click to download the file. FYI, it's been zipped)

I hope it makes your lives easier and your dinner time yummier! Please feel free to share it at will.

And since I'm a compulsive planner, I'm already looking ahead to this year's Fall/Winter edition. I'm going to make lots of changes and I'll add several weeks of meals as well. If you'd like to contribute your favorites, as always, leave them in a comment or shoot me an email (see sidebar.) And, even better, I'm strongly considering doing a Dessert Edition. I told you I was compulsive! It only makes sense, though. I have a lot of recipes, and my dessert to dinner ratio is about 10:1!

However, until then, I'm going to enjoy at least 4 months of no meal planning!!

you are such a nice nice person for doing all this work. I *need* to print both editions and get them in a binder and in USE!

Awesome again! We've used a ton of your recipes and I've started doing the meal planning for our family with other recipes too!

Thank You, Thank You, Thank You! My fav from the last edition was the Tomato Tortellini soup. I have made it at least half a dozen times.
