It's Done!

Our patio was finished last week and we love it! Of course, since this is apparently Indiana's wet season, we haven't been able to enjoy it yet, but there will be plenty of time for that. It actually turned out to be bigger than we had originally planned because they kept throwing in more square feet to sweeten the deal. The project came in exactly at budget and we were really happy with the contractor. The area directly behind our house wasn't very usable, so the patio feels like it's added so much to our yard and definitely to our entertaining capabilities! I've included before and after pictures, but these don't show any of the landscaping or decorating that are still in process. We're shopping for patio furniture this weekend, and we finally upgraded our lighting. The patio will host a ton of cookouts this Summer, but the first major event will be Aida's 1st birthday party, in just over a month!

Still Blech!

Here are the pictures of the kids putting their hand prints in the concrete, because of course we had to!


And I had to get a picture of Evan with the cement truck. We spent that morning going from window to window as the workers took the concrete from the truck to the yard. He had a blast!

This is the patio after being stamped and treated with the powdered color release. They came the next day to power wash all that off and seal it, and then it was finally done!

Here's a close-up of the stamp and pattern. The color has lightened up a bit since these first pictures. I wanted the color to be as natural as possible and I'm really happy with how it's turning out.

This is the before and after of the pathway to the garage door. This was a big priority to Jeff because now he doesn't have to weed eat on this side of the house!
